Fall for Twin Lakes Festival returns to the park with new activities for the whole family to enjoy

GREEN BAY, Va. – Twin Lakes State Park will host the Fall for Twin Lakes Festival on Oct. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Discovery Area. 

New this year is a scarecrow decorating contest and the winner will take home the prize of a Virginia State Parks gift certificate. 

“This annual festival has become a staple within the community, bringing together new and veteran park guests, especially since this time of year showcases the colorful foliage at the park,” said Twin Lakes State Park Manager Kevin Faubion. 

Guests will be able to participate in fall-themed activities and games including pumpkin painting and hayrides. There will be opportunities to get an up-close look at wildlife, thanks to animal ambassadors from A.W.A.R.E. and additional park exhibitors. 

There will be snacks, drinks and pumpkins available for purchase The festival will also feature the craft marketplace that highlights local artisans and unique handmade goods that are available for purchase. 

Standard parking fees will apply, or a donation of four non-perishable canned goods will be accepted.
