RICHMOND, Va. – Pocahontas Premieres returns to the Heritage Amphitheater at Pocahontas State Park and will showcase some new musical acts this year. American Idol golden ticket winner Carrie Brockwell will kickoff the series and Hazi, another Season 20 golden ticket winner, will be the opening act.

“We are excited to showcase our local artist from Chesterfield, Carrie Brockwell, who also happens to have been a contestant on American Idol,” said Pocahontas State Park Assistant Manager Mike Biby. “We also have Kanin Wren’s Taylor Swift Experience that is new to the series this year and will surely delight the crowd with a fun and family-friendly show filled with dancing, singing along, and a live band featuring a concert violinist.”

The series begins on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. and tickets are $20 each. Purchase tickets to catch the first concert of the series and purchase tickets HERE.

The Deloreans, The Richmond Symphony, Brooke McBride with Jimmy Fitch and ZOSO with Hold the Line will be returning to the series this year. The park will also host its annual Bluegrass Festival on July 19 that will include bands such as Josh Grigsby and County Line, Tara Mills Band, Hickory Ridge Bluegrass Band and Hammaville.

“This year we have a more diverse mix of genres,” explained Biby. “Our stage is a great platform to highlight local artists as well as bring back familiar bands that have quickly become crowd favorites. We truly have something everyone can enjoy, so we hope you come out and listen to some amazing music surrounded by nature at Pocahontas State Park.”

Pocahontas Premieres runs from May through October and tickets can be purchased at the gate or online. The gates will open one hour before each concert. Tickets are required for each show, even the free concerts. The parking fee is required upon entry.

For the full lineup of shows, visit the Pocahontas Premieres web page.

Pocahontas Premieres is sponsored by the Friends of Pocahontas State Park. The Richmond Symphony concerts are sponsored by the Friends Group and Chesterfield Parks and Recreation.
