CAPE CHARLES, Va. – The Annual Easter Egg Hunt returns to Kiptopeke State Park on April 13. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and will be packed with fun for the whole family.

The Easter egg hunt starts promptly at 2 p.m. so be sure to arrive early and enjoy activities such as games and crafts. Guests can have their photo taken with the Easter Bunny as well as enjoy a brief meet and greet session.

“Bring your baskets and hop over to the park to enjoy an afternoon of Easter-themed festivities,” said Assistant Park Manager Stephanie Venarchick.

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities during the month of April highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 44 parks.

“On April 19, we will preserve the beauty of the Big Water Visitor Center by cleaning out flower beds, weeding the walkways, and planting native species,” said Kiptopeke State Park Manager Sean Dixon. “Come prepared to get your hands dirty, bring gardening gloves and wear appropriate clothing. We are excited to work with our community and everyone who comes out to volunteer at the park to celebrate Earth Day.”

Those interested in participating in the Earth Day Cleanup will need to meet the park staff at the Big Water Visitor Center at 9 a.m. The cleanup will end at 11 a.m. and guests are encouraged to dress for working outdoors.

For more information about the park, visit the Kiptopeke State Park website.
