RANDOLPH, Va. – Staunton River Battlefield State Park will present the annual “Lighting of the Bridge” on Dec. 6, 7, 8 and 13, 14, 15 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Clover Center.

This year the event offers two weekends of lights where visitors can enjoy a wagon ride or walk down a lighted trail surrounded by a multitude of holiday decorations and a fully lit Staunton River Bridge. Afterward, partake in festive family activities such as a children's craft table, wreath making, a Christmas photo station, and refreshments at the Clover Center.

The event cost $5.00 per car (cash only) at gate. Wreath making will be an additional $10.00.

The park will be accepting donations for Tri-County Community Action Agency, which provides shelter for violence and domestic assault victims in Halifax, Charlotte, Mecklenburg and Lunenburg counties.

“Please help us support our community by bringing non-perishable food items, personal hygiene items, or household products to a drop box located in the Clover Center,” said Staunton River Battlefield State Park Manager David Gunnells. “We are excited to share two weekends of lights this year with our guests.”

Most events are outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather. For more information, call the park at 434-454-4312 or email srbattle@dcr.virginia.gov.
