Due to the expected impact of the winter storm, all Virginia State Park overnight facilities will be closed from Friday, Jan. 23 through Tuesday, Jan. 27. This decision is based on the forecast for unsafe conditions and potential power outages. For updates click here.

Fall festivals coming soon to Virginia State Parks

RICHMOND, Va. – From late September through the beginning of November, Virginia State Parks will offer a variety of festive and educational programs to celebrate the fall season. Cooler temperatures bring out stunning fall foliage, providing a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the state. From harvest celebrations to trunk-or-treat events, fall fun can be found at park programs in each region.  

Western Region 

Grayson Highlands Fall Festival 

  • Grayson Highlands State Park - Mouth of Wilson 
  • Sept. 28-29, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

Harvest Celebration at the Historic Village of Foster Falls 

  • New River Trail State Park - Max Meadows 
  • Oct. 5, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. 

Martin’s Station Fall Encampment and the Wilderness Road Heritage Festival 

  • Wilderness Road State Park - Ewing

Central Region 

Pawpaw Festival
