Virginia State Parks requests input for long-term development of Clinch River State Park

Editors: Follow this link to download an image.

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), who manages Virginia’s 41 state parks, is requesting input about the newly created Clinch River State Park. DCR is currently preparing a comprehensive master plan for the new park, a process required for all state parks by the state.

The Clinch River State Park was recently created as Virginia’s 41st state park and consists of several non-contiguous properties in Wise and Russel counties in southwestern Virginia.

The survey will help provide the framework for the long term development of the park. Questions range from what recreational opportunities you would like to see in the Clinch River region to ranking the importance of various educational activities.

To provide feedback, go to www.dcr.virginia.gov/CRSurvey. The survey will close Jan. 16, 2022.
