MEDIA ADVISORY: Natural Resources Secretary Molly Ward to meet with girl's state mountain biking champion at Pocahontas State Park
Who:
Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources Molly Ward, Virginia state champion for sophomore girls Diamond Womack and other members of Richmond Cycling Corps (RCC) from Armstrong High School.
What:
Sec. Ward will meet with the state champion and tour the trails where RCC trains as part of the partnership between RCC, the Dominion Foundation (the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources), and the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
Last year, through the RCC Richmond Trail Corps project, Armstrong High School students worked on trail improvements at Pocahontas State Park. Their work will contribute to Pocahontas becoming an International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) Ride Center, a designation awarded only to the upper echelon of mountain bike terrain worldwide. The project received funding from the Dominion Foundation.
