DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.
Certain positions require a criminal background check, a conflict of interest financial statement or both. Law-enforcement positions require a fingerprint-based FBI investigation. DCR is an EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

Powhatan State Park is accepting applications for an Office Assistant position.
Job Summary:
Powhatan State Park is looking for a self-motivated and organized individual to assist park management with administrative functions. The successful candidate is the first point of contact for the park, both in person and over the phone. Provides office support services for seven full-time staff members. Provides coverage at the park’s entrance station and park office. Prepares cash and credit deposits. Required to operate a computer, cash register, laminator, and multi-line phone system. Position provides accurate and detailed information on the reservation procedures/information, park fees, including amenities throughout the park, and provides clear and accurate information on park interpretive programs, and local area attractions. Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, copying, and typing correspondence. Works independently in preparing check-in packets and information for the next shift.
