DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.
Generally applications must be made through the RMS (electronic state application). We will, however, accept paper applications for some state park slots. Be sure to refer to the individual recruitment for specific requirements.
Certain positions require a criminal background check, a conflict of interest financial statement or both. Law-enforcement positions require a fingerprint-based FBI investigation. DCR is an EEO/AA/ADA Employer.

Hiring Rate: $12.00/hr

Weekends and holiday work required.
Detail-oriented and energetic individuals needed to work in our contact station. Provides information regarding state park amenities and services, and other local attractions. Collect appropriate fees. Provides accurate and detailed information on park fees, directions, pricing, annual passes, trails information, educational programs, and area information. Required to operate a computer, cash register and hand held radio. Must have reliable transportation. General knowledge of office and computer operations preferred and ability to meet/work well with the general public. Must be able to reconcile register and perform daily cash management procedures.
Special Requirements:
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings. There are no health benefits or paid vacation leave associated with this part-time jobs. Employees are limited to working no more than 1500 hours in 12 months from May 1 to April 30. Start date for these positions are yet to be determined but will be in April or May. Employment in all positions within the Virginia State Parks is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. Employer participates in e-Verify.
For all positions, experience is preferred but not necessary. We provide on the job training. Employees may be required to perform other park related duties during emergencies or on a non-recurrent basis.
