DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.

Hiring Rate: $17 per hour
General duties include providing meaningful educational opportunities and experiences for park guests by interpreting the significance of the park’s natural/historical/and cultural resources by staffing visitor contact areas. Perform roving interpretation throughout the park, answering phone and email correspondence, providing area information and adhering to the DCR and State Park mission with a focus on providing world class customer service. Assists Chief Ranger of Visitor Experience and other park staff with the daily planning and implementation of interpretive programs and educational outreach. This includes corresponding with park guests, schools, home school organizations and civic groups. Incumbent will be responsible for scheduling and supervision of park interpreter(s). Assists with general upkeep and staffing of the Discovery Center.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, maintaining all interpretive resources, creating new programs, working with other local organizations to diversify programming, assisting with volunteer groups, writing blogs, posting photos to flickr, attending professional development workshops and seminars, and obtaining facilitator certification in curriculum guides.

This position is limited to 1500 hours between May 1 and April 30. There are no benefits associated with wage positions. Employment in all positions is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a background check. This position will require holiday and weekend shifts. Valid driver’s license is required.
