Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Clean the Bay Day - Cedar Creek Clean-Up

June 2, 2018. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Cedar Creek is a direct tributary to the James River, which dumps in to the Chesapeake Bay roughly 250 miles east. Clean up trash and other debris to create a healthier environment for wildlife and man. Dress appropriate for the weather, and prepare to get wet in the creek. Pack snacks and water. Tools and supplies will be provided. Welcome all ages and skill levels.
