What's a benthic organism and how do they survive in the creek? Lucky for us, the creeks at Hungry Mother State park are filled with them. But, if we want to learn their secrets, we'll have to catch them first. Come discover what these organisms are and learn what they tell us about the water quality of the park.

Wear closed-toed shoes and clothing you don't mind getting wet. This program is conducted in accordance with Virginia Law; park staff possess the proper permits and training to briefly handle wildlife.
