Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Sugar Hill Night Hike

Join a Clinch River State Park Ranger in seeing the park "after hours". This hike will offer guests a chance to see the nocturnal side of the park that is not often seen. The hike will listen for our night time friends, like owls and frogs, and enjoy the night sky on Sugar Hill. This is a two mile hike starting at the Oxbow Lake in Saint Paul. We will hike along the river to the orchard so make sure to wear sturdy shoes, bring water, a flashlight, and a hiking stick if you wish. In case of inclement weather, event may be cancelled.
