Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

National Kids to Parks Day: Vernal Pool Hike

Join a Park Ranger in bringing your kids to Clinch River State Park. The Park Ranger will be leading the group to one of incredibly bio-diverse Vernal Pools. This hike will offer a chance to see a rare naturally occurring pool full of different animals. This hike will begin at the Oxbow Lake In Saint Paul and follow the Sugar Hill Trail.  This will be an roughly half mile hike with a steep incline so please wear well suited shoes, bring some water, and a hiking stick.
