Earth Day - Pollinator Garden Rejuvenation

Location of Douthat State Park in Virginia

Where

Douthat State Park, 14239 Douthat State Park Rd., Millboro, VA 24460.
Park Office

When

April 23, 2024. 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Help us get our pollinator garden ready for spring pollinators. Plants must have bees and other insects to pollinate, making them indispensable to our ecosystems. There are almost 400,000 flowering plant species, and 90% of them depend on insect pollination. As pollinators vanish, the effect on the well-being and viability of crops and native plants can be catastrophic. We simply cannot survive without bees and other pollinator insects.

We will be making seed bombs to disperse throughout the park to help increase pollination and help bees and other pollinator insects survive.
