Let’s show off how amazing our parks can be for wildlife this spring! This is a seven-day 'bioblitz' nature hunt to assist in recording and protecting wildlife in our parks. Take part in this friendly and fun competition to see who can gather the most observations of nature and find the most species.

Visit your favorite Southwest Virginia State Park during Earth Week (April 21-27) and use nature apps iNaturalist, Seek, or Merlin to document plants and animals. The park with the most observations will take home the Nature Challenge title, although citizen science is the real winner here!

Participating Parks:

Grayson Highlands State Park
