Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell celebrated Earth Day at Pocahontas State Park with a special Stewardship Virginia event on Friday, April 20.

Students from Grove Avenue Christian School and a homeschool group participated in the event which included a tree identification hike lead by Park Naturalist Krista Weatherford. The Governor then planted five River Birch trees with the students. Governor McDonnell presented each student with a Stewardship Virginia certificate for participating.
