Show your support with a new Virginia State Parks license plate
Supporters of Virginia State Parks and the outdoors can show their support with a new license plate.
A portion of the $25 fee will be dedicated to maintaining Virginia State Parks.
“We strive to provide visitors with safe and affordable opportunities to enjoy Virginia’s natural wonders and outdoors while creating moments that turn into lifelong memories,” said Virginia State Parks Director Craig Seaver. “Virginia State Parks visitors, advocates and volunteers are some of the most dedicated and supportive in the country, and this license plate allows them to proudly display their support for the state parks.”
Applicants who prepay by Nov. 1 will receive 10,000 loyalty points, a $50 value, for the state parks loyalty program.
Virginia State Park license plate owners will also receive free parking on Earth Day, Arbor Day, Kids to Parks Day, Virginia State Parks Anniversary Day (June 15), Veterans Day and Opt-Outside Day (Black Friday) as well as special discounts and offers throughout the year.
The unique, custom design shows adults and a child enjoying Virginia’s outdoors.

The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, which manages Virginia State Parks, must receive 450 prepaid license plate applications by Nov. 1 to demonstrate to the Department of Motor Vehicles enough public interest to issue the plate. If the goal is reached, the General Assembly must pass enabling legislation and the new plate will ship in July 2019. If 450 plates aren’t ordered, the money will be refunded.
