Corrected at 12:51 p.m., Oct. 31. Please disregard the earlier version.
A public meeting to discuss long-range planning for
Natural Tunnel State Park in Scott County will be Nov. 13, at 7 p.m., in the park’s Cove Ridge Center, 1420 Natural Tunnel Parkway, Duffield, Virginia.
Staff with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will provide an overview of proposed updates to the park’s master plan.
Each state park has a master plan that guides development. Plans are updated every five years and must be current before construction can begin.
“Master plans outline the desired future condition for a park when it is fully developed,” said Bill Conkle, a park planner. “We welcome public input in the planning process.”
The 946-acre park is 15 miles northwest of Gate City and 25 miles from Kingsport, Tennessee.
