Virginia State Parks host winter activities
While most regions across Virginia are covered in snow again, families and friends are turning to Virginia State Parks for winter fun.
“In so many ways, our parks serve as a sort of ‘back yard’ for our park neighbors,” said Virginia State Parks Field Operations Manager Craig Seaver. “Families are welcome to sled in our parks and some people enjoy cross-country skiing on our winter trials. State parks are wonderful locations for all sorts of winter activities.”
To find a park near you, visit http://is.gd/findapark. People are encouraged to call their nearby state park to learn about sledding conditions before visiting. Each park also posts up-to-the-minute details about inclement weather, closures and cancelled programs on its web page.
Virginia State Parks are managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
