Natural Bridge State Park is accepting applications for Maintenance Ranger positions.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dependable individuals to perform routine care of facilities, grounds, trails, and restrooms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recurring grounds care, mowing/weed eating, routine restroom cleaning, stocking supplies, trash pickup, trail clean up, facility maintenance, and basic plumbing/electrical/carpentry tasks as necessary.
- Operating a variety of hand tools and cleaning tools to include, but not limited to, hammers; hand saws; hand pruners; loppers; shovels; mops, brooms, dusters, etc.
- Operating power tools may include, but not limited to, mowers, tractors, weed eaters, pressure washer, blower, paint sprayer, circular saw; reciprocating saw; drills of various types and operating specialized equipment including UTVs, and mowers.
- Performing routine maintenance on all equipment used.
- Interacting with the public to include answering questions and providing information.
- Must be able to work various shifts including weekends, holidays, and night shifts. The shift hours for this position may vary; weekly hours will vary seasonally.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience performing grounds care and/or landscaping.
- Experience working with basic hand and power tools.
- Experience cleaning restrooms and/or facilities.
- Must be able to perform manual labor in outdoor conditions requiring frequent walking, bending, standing, and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years old, and possess a valid Driver’s License.
Please provide any certifications relating to your experience at the time of application.
Additional Considerations:
- Previous experience in the following areas is preferred: Lawn care, landscaping, restroom cleaning, facility cleaning, carpentry/plumbing/electrical repair and facility/equipment/vehicle maintenance.
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations related to the storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate specialized commercial mowing equipment, power tools, hand tools, etc., is preferred.

- Employment Eligibility: Selected candidates must complete the I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Form. DCR participates in E-Verify.
- Driver’s License Requirement: A valid State Driver's License is required if operating a state or personal vehicle for agency business.
- Work Requirements: Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1,500 hours from May 1 to April 30.

- Free camping outside of the Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day period in sites designed for up to six people.
- Free camping Sunday night through Thursday night (excluding the night prior to a holiday) from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
- Fifty percent discount on cabins (up to 3 bedrooms) outside of Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, for a maximum of 14 nights. All reservations require a two-night minimum. Bunkhouses, camping cabins and yurts are included; one night yurt stays only receive a 25% discount.
