Hiring Range: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
High Bridge Trail State Park is seeking outgoing and energetic applicants to join the team as an Office Assistant. This person will be the first point of contact at the Visitor Center and perform duties such as collecting fees, cash management, and providing information on the park and its facilities and activities. Visitor contacts are to be conducted in an outgoing, friendly, and professional manner, including a professional appearance. Responsibilities also include processing gift shop and park pass sales; keeping the Visitor Center clean and well ordered; development of park promotional materials such as fliers and brochures; and assisting with other duties as assigned. Working on weekends, holidays, and some evenings required.
Minimum Qualifications Experience providing highest standard of customer service to the public and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner. Attention to detail in order to memorize and recall information. Required to operate a computer including Microsoft Office applications and cash register. Strong skills in cash management.
Additional Considerations Prior experience working in a park or related field. General knowledge of park operations and ability to work well with the public and co-workers. Familiarity with DCR-specific computer applications.
Special Requirements A valid state driver's license is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency. Wage/seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits and are limited to 1500 hours from May 1 to April 30. This is a part-time position with limited hours December through February.
