Hiring Rate: $19.00 per hour
First Landing State Park is seeking a self-motivated, organized, customer service oriented individual for a part-time Office Manager Assistant position. This position will be responsible for performing customer service duties in person, over the phone, and through email; providing accurate information regarding state park services, local attractions, park fees, trail information, and park interpretive programs; learning the park’s point of sale system as well as state park policies; and assisting guests with making reservations, checking in and out, purchasing annual and day parking passes, as well as other merchandise when necessary. This position will primarily provide coverage in the park office, but also at the parks contact stations if necessary.
This position will assist the Office Manager in day-to-day tasks such as supervising a Contact Ranger staff of approximately 20 individuals from Memorial to Labor Day, and approximately 6 to 10 individuals in the slower months. This will include assisting in setting up and conducting interviews for new team members; training new team members in the basic duties of the park’s office, contact stations, and cash management policies; assisting with other cash management procedures such as preparing cash deposits for the bank, ensuring change funds are accurate, and preforming shift opening and closing procedures; acting as a supervisor on duty when assisting Contact Rangers with customer service duties and concerns; assisting with timecard processing on a weekly basis, keeping all areas of the contact staff cleaned, organized, and stocked with supplies and brochures; assisting with training and orientating park volunteers to the park’s office and contact stations; and assisting with other office and administrative tasks as requested by the Office Manager.

This position will be expected to work weekends and holidays. There are no health benefits or paid vacation leave associated with the position. Employee works a maximum of 1500 hours per fiscal year from May 1 to April 30.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
