Hiring Range: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
Responsible, results oriented individual needed, who are able to work at times without direct supervision and who can prioritize tasks and positively interact with the public. Performs recurring cleaning of restrooms and facilities, mowing grass, weed eating, raking and leaf removal, trash and litter removal, grounds and gardens maintenance, assist in setup and takedown of Special Event tents & equipment. May assist skilled park staff with light construction projects and cleaning tasks necessary to operate State Park facilities. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools required.
Minimum Qualifications: Have a valid VA driver’s license and reliable transportation. General knowledge of the use and care of common hand tools and cleaning supplies, ability to perform routine cleaning, maintenance functions, and other duties as directed. Must be able to work well with other staff and with park guests. Requires standing, bending and walking in the outdoors exposed to the elements. Must be willing to work shift work, weekends and holidays. Other duties may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis to ensure the proper functioning of the park.
Additional Considerations: Previous experience in the following areas is preferred: lawn care and facility cleaning. Knowledge of or ability to learn to operate commercial mowing equipment, chain saw equipment, power tools, hand tools, etc.
Special Requirements:
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
