DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.

Hiring Rate: $15.00 per hour
Westmoreland State Park is accepting applications for the Office Assistant position! This position assists park visitors by providing information on the park’s facilities, programs, and local points of interest and attractions in the area. The Office Assistant operates an electronic cash register and collects appropriate user fees while maintaining required revenue accounting forms and reports. Other duties include performing registration procedures for campers, cabin guests, and adventure program participants; and serving as a dispatcher of the park’s radio system, relaying radio calls to both Maintenance and Park Law Enforcement personnel. This position also provides all aspects of administrative support for the state park to include answering incoming calls, assisting with guest services, and providing accurate and detailed information on campsite and cabin reservation procedures; directions; pricing; trail information; park interpretive programs; and local area information. The Office Assistant will be responsible for overseeing proper revenue collection in the visitor center and contact station and assisting with training new hires and returning seasonal staff in areas such as revenue collection, shift settlement, merchandise sales, and customer service.

Must be 17 years or older and possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License. Possess manual dexterity to operate a computer, printer/scanner/copier, projector, phone system and radio. Must be willing to work various shifts, weekends, evenings and holidays, Memorial Day through Labor Day. Employees are limited to working no more than 1500 hours in 12 months from May 1 to April 30. Employer participates in e-Verify.
A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
