DCR is looking for talented people to fill positions listed below. Unless stated otherwise, you must complete and submit an electronic state application by the job announcement's close date.

Primary Responsibilities-Supervise Park retail operations in absence of Park Business Manager. Will work a minimum of two weekends a month between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Will be required to work Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. Assists with selection and training of seasonal retail employees, opening and closing retail operations depending on schedule shift, and ensures that proper cash management policies are followed. Orders, receives, and stocks merchandise/food orders for Park retail outlets as well as assists with inventory controls. Will become proficient in using BMWeb and Active Works computer programs.
Other Duties: Primary point of contact for Murphy Hall rentals to include being responsible for printed material relating to Murphy Hall, showing of venue, and ensuring that facility cleanliness and standards are met. Assist renters as needed. Coordinate with Chief Ranger/Visitor Services and other Park staff and Friends Group, in the planning, development, and operation of Special Events to include Music on the Cliffs, Gobble Wobble 5k, Dog-N-Jog 5k, Halloween weekend, and Holiday Festival.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with people of all ages, verbally and in writing; ability to provide good customer service; ability to organize and implement events and programs; competent in Microsoft Office applications, a valid Virginia driver’s licenses and clean driving record; be willing or become certified in Basic First Aid, and CPR.
Employment Period: Works a maximum of 1500 hour per fiscal year from May 1 to April 30, 28-32 hours per week, worker’s compensation is the only benefit provided. $12.50 hourly
