Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

What is a "strawberry moon?" Learn this and many more moon facts at Natural Bridge State Park as we use telescopes and binoculars to view the moon in all its glory. Enjoy the night sky in one of Virginia's Dark Skies Parks, a place where darkness is conserved for all. Meet us at the Children's Discovery Area at Skyline Trail. From here we will have telescopes to use and a guided night hike to Jefferson Point. All participants are asked to bring water, insect repellent, and flashlights. Red lensed flashlights preferred. All participants are required to wear closed toed shoes.
