Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

National Public Lands Day - Beach and Trail Cleanup

Come celebrate National Public Lands Day at Kiptopeke State Park! Parking fees in all Virginia State Parks are waived for this special day - and several interpretive programs are planned for this day, including a beach and trail cleanup!

From 8-9 am, visit the Picnic Area to meet a park ranger and discuss litter and how it can harm the environment. The park will have cleanup bags and gloves to hand out to volunteers!

If you can't make it in the morning, stop by the park office at anytime during the day to pick up cleanup supplies! Bring proof to the office that you collected a bag of trash and receive a coupon for a free day of parking at any Virginia State Park (limit one per family)!
