Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Ever wondered what the concrete ships look like up close? Or how the park looks different from the water? Just interested in getting out in a kayak? The park is proud to offer guided kayak tours utilizing our fleet of sit-on-top kayaks, led by certified guides. Program includes a basic introduction to kayaking, as well as a guided kayaking experience from the boat ramp to the concrete fleet! Participants must be 10 years or older - participants under 12 must ride tandem with an adult - anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an parent/guardian. $15/per person CASH ONLY. Sign up closes the day in advance at Camp Store. Refunds only for weather related cancellations. Call the Camp Store at (757) 331-3400 for questions.
