Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

First Day Hikes and Selfie Challenge

January 1, 2021. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Begin the new year with a step (or hike) in the right direction. Come to Kiptopeke State Park for our annual First Day Hikes. Arrive anytime between 10:00 a.m and noon to complete a socially distant self-guided hike through the diverse landscapes, historic sites, and habitats that make Kiptopeke wonderful and unique. Print off a handout or grab one at the check in station at the entrance to the park. The self guided hike begins at Picnic Shelter 1, next to the playground. Parking fees are waived for the day.
