Bluebird Box Workshop

park locationWhere

Chippokes State Park, 695 Chippokes Park Rd., Surry, VA 23883. Quayle Classroom at the Farm and Forestry Museum.

When

February 22, 2020. 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

With last year's success, we've asked for the help of local Master Naturalist and Bluebird Society member Joni Carlson once again to hold our second Bluebird Box building Workshop. We invite you to come and learn how to build one of these boxes, and even have the chance to take one home. There is a registration for the program, and the cost for registration is $20 per person. The fees for the program will go directly to reimburse Joni and her husband Mike for their donations of the supplies needed for the program.

With the boxes, we are planning to add to our new Bluebird trail here at Chippokes. While there is room for 25 participants, we will ask for a donation of a couple of the boxes to help us continue the trail. Then, join Joni throughout the year as we monitor our boxes and learn what we can about the bluebirds who take residence inside.

If you are interested in registering please contact the Farm and Forestry Office at (757)294-3439. Payment can be made day of, and the cost for parking is waived for those participating in the workshop. Reserve your spot today.
