Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Fall Foliage Report for Virginia State Parks

Welcome to our fall foliage report for 2023.

Fall color prediction map

Fall foliage reports for Nov. 2, 2023.

Peak season is in full bloom in many parts of Virginia, except the southwest region where most leaves have already begun to fall. There are plenty of fall events to enjoy no matter what color leaves are on the trees so be sure to plan your park visit before it gets too cold. This will be our last report of the season.

Whatever adventure you decide on, be sure to share your Virginia State Park photos on social media by using the hashtag #VaStateParks and #FallinVirginia to be part of the online conversation.
