Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

All aboard the Chippokes Tram Express in celebration of our Holiday Open House, special event, featuring festive hayrides. Experience the park in a different way than you may have before while you're a passenger on our Tram.

Enjoy a guided experience, hear all about the vast history of Chippokes State Park, and have a Park Interpreter accompany you as you travel to different areas that help make us a very special and unique place. These festive hayrides are first come, first serve, and do have a capacity per ride.

Meet at the Farm & Forestry Museum Parking Lot to wait for your chance to board! Be sure to stop by the Jones-Stewart Mansion, Brick Kitchen, and Conference Shelter to see all the other wonderful things we have in store for you. Grab your hot chocolate and a few Christmas cookies for the ride.
