Conservation and good stewardship of Virginia’s lands, water and natural resources is important for the preservation of Virginia for future generations.
Join us to develop an appreciation for birds and birding as a means to explore, understand, and protect our natural resources. You will learn to recognize some common Virginia birds and understand how technology can assist us in better understanding the world around us. We will also be able to assist you in identify ways you can further your new birding passion by engaging in bird conservation and/or citizen science.
We recommend you prepare for the weather as we will be hiking during this program. Close-toed shoes are recommended. For the best experience please download the Merlin and eBird apps published by the Cornell Ornithology Lab onto your smart phone.
