Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.
First Day Hike-Explore the Trees of Buck Hill Trail at Natural Bridge State Park

Start the New Year with Natural Bridge State Park by exploring the views and trees of Buck Hill Trail.
Explore the sights and sounds of nature as Rangers and volunteers guide you through the trail to the top for great views of the Blue Ridge Mountains while learning about the surrounding trees that call Natural Bridge State Park home. Participants are asked to gather at the Buck Hill Trail Head, located near the Caverns at Natural Bridge.
Hikes will be available every hour from 9:00 am to Noon. Each hike will last approximately 45 minutes, depending on the hiking ability of the group. Buck Hill trail is rated as a moderate trail. Please remember to dress for the weather and bring plenty of water for you and your group.
All trails except Cedar Creek Trail are free to explore for this day. Please bring a packed lunch and make a day out of it along Blue Ridge Trail, Skyline Trail, and Buck Hill Trail. To explore Cedar Creek Trail and the Natural Bridge, please pay standard entrance fees at the Visitor Center.
