Open fires are prohibited throughout the park from midnight to 4 p.m. through April 30 per the 4 p.m. Burning Law. This includes wood and charcoal. Gas is permissible. Campground fires are allowed during the restricted time if a camp host is on duty and signage to that effect is posted in the campground. Failure to observe the 4 p.m. Burning Law can result in a fine. Contact the Park Office for additional information.

Favorite Camping Memories

By Shellie AnnePosted October 14, 2018

Some of my favorite memories as a child are from the times I spent camping with my family, like poking a stick into a crackling campfire, or exploring the woods with my sisters. In the good ol' days we didn't take a lot of photos of the everyday, we saved the money we spent on developing film and making prints for special occasions.

I wonder how many of us look back on our childhoods and wish that we captured what seemed like less than special moments on film? Those times that were indeed the real memory makers in our lives.
