Course Objectives: To provide a thorough understanding of the pasture condition score sheet (PCS) assessment tool and the supporting guide to Pasture condition scoring so you can effectively utilize this PCS tool in the field to document the existing pasture condition and use the results to guide your recommendation for conservation practices in the development of a conservation plan. The focus of this training is devoted to understanding the 10 indicators of pasture condition and how to use the indicator descriptions to consistently score each indicator using the 5-point numerical system. After completing the classroom training, we will go to the field and practice in real pasture conditions so you should have a good understanding of the tool and be ready to apply what you have learned to help clients in your service area.
