Mason Neck State Park in the running to win $100,000 grant
LORTON, VA – Mason Neck State Park, in Fairfax County, is in contention to receive a $100,000 grant in the Coca-Cola “America is Your Park Campaign.”
Supporters of Virginia State Parks are needed to vote for the park online in the national contest. Votes for the park can be cast on the Coke website, by checking in on Foursquare and by logging daily activities on MapMyFitness. The contest is designed to encourage people to be more active outdoors.
Mason Neck State Park is currently among the top two parks in the ongoing nationwide vote tally.
The park receiving the most votes will win a $100,000 recreation grant from Coca-Cola and the title of “America's Favorite Park.” Second- and third-place parks will win $50,000 and $25,000 grants, respectively.
Votes can be cast daily, and votes will be doubled July 13 and 14. The deadline is July 15.
