Little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium var. scoparium), prairie ragwort (Packera paupercula var. appalachiana, with yellow flowers), and glade wild quinine (Parthenium auriculatum) are three of the most characteristic species of the Jacks Creek ultramafic barren in Franklin County.
