Freshwater Tidal Hardwood Swamp along France Swamp, above its confluence with Ware Creek, southeast of Barhamsville in James City County.  The introduced insect pathogen Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) is killing many ash trees and causing large canopy gaps in this stand.
