Freshwater Tidal Hardwood Swamp – CEGL006287

Early summer aspect of a tidal hardwood swamp, with flowering lizard's-tail (Saururus cernuus) and low field horsetail (Equisetum arvense) dominating the herb layer; green ash (Fraxinus pennsylvanica) dominates the overstory.  Along Accokeek Creek in Stafford County; Crows Nest State Natural Area Preserve.
