Low Salt Marsh (Salt Panne Type) – CEGL006586

Low salt marsh dominated by the short form of saltmarsh cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora) and containing substantial cover of saltgrass (Distichlis spicata) and the succulent halophyte jointed glasswort (Salicornia virginica, with red stems).  Parker's Marsh State Natural Area Preserve, on Onancock Creek near its mouth at the Chesapeake Bay, Accomack County.
