Marsh peat and monospecific stand of saltmarsh cordgrass (Spartina alterniflora) is being eroded away by sea-level rise at Hughlett Point, on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay in Northumberland County.  Hughlett Point State Natural Area Preserve.
