Tidal freshwater marshes provide a wealth of resources for nesting and migrating birds, amphibians, fish, invertebrates and many other types of wildlife. Great egret (Ardea alba) in marsh along Accokeek Creek, Stafford County, Crows Nest State Natural Area Preserve.
