A rare type of tidal freshwater marsh dominated by American lotus (Nelumbo lutea); this species grows in similar, deeply flooded habitats as common spatterdock (Nuphar advena). Potomac Creek, above its confluence with Accokeek Creek and the Potomac River in Stafford County.
