Tidal Freshwater Marsh (Common Spatterdock Mudflat Type) – CEGL004472
The lowest, most deeply flooded elevations along channels in tidal freshwater marshes support nearly monospecific stands of common spatterdock (Nuphar advena). These habitats are exposed as extensive mud flats at low tide.  Mouth of Owl Hollow on the Rappahannock River, Westmoreland County.  The Nature Conservancy Vorhees Preserve.
