Tidal Freshwater / Oligohaline Aquatic Bed (Narrow-Leaved Spatterdock Type) - CEGL006094

Some of the aquatic beds in the tidal Chickahominy River are dominated by exceptionally large colonies of floating narrow-leaved spatterdock (Nuphar sagittifolia).  This species is globally rare (G2) and reaches its northern range limit in this single Virginia watershed.
