Wind-tidal channels of Northwest River tributaries support large aquatic beds dominated by submersed common hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) and floating white water-lily (Nymphaea odorata ssp. odorata).  Northwest River State Natural Area Preserve, City of Chesapeake.
