Impenetrable thickets of Catawba rhododendron (Rhododendron catawbiense) with some American mountain-ash (Sorbus americana) in a concavity on the north slope of a Wilburn Ridge rocky summit.  Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, George Washington & Jefferson National Forests.
