Piedmont / Central Appalachian Riverside Outcrop Prairie – CEGL006478

A grassland of unusual composition on the Potomac Gorge bedrock terrace at Madeira School in Fairfax County.  This stand consists largely of river oats (Chasmanthium latifolium), big bluestem (Andropogon gerardii), and rough dropseed (Sporobolus clandestinus).
